چکیده

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects application glyphosate herbicide on seed reserve mobilization and seedling morphology genetically modified soybean. Two herbicide-tolerant (TMG 1264RR P98Y11) two herbicide-sensitive (Emgopa 315 UFUS 7415) cultivars were selected for study subjected germination, length, tests after treatments with solutions at concentrations 0.00, 0.06, 0.12%. hypocotyl/radicle ratio efficiency conversion reserves seedlings also determined. higher concentration glyphosate, lower percentage normal shorter mainly in cultivars. 'TMG 1264RR' glyphosate-tolerant genotype mobilized more efficient converting biomass into seedlings. Herbicide reduced average length caused roots become than hypocotyls. During changes since hypocotyl becomes proportionally larger radicle. Although, when applied, altered weight, four evaluated genotypes, most affected 'Emgopa 315' 'UFUS 7415', glyphosate-sensitive ones.

Effects of seed aging on subsequent seed reserve utilization and seedling growth in soybean

Reduced seedling growth is a consequence of seed deterioration. The heterotrophic seedling growth can be considered as the product of three components: (1) initial seed weight, (2) the fraction of seed reserves which are mobilized, and (3) the conversion efficiency of mobilized seed reserves to seedling tissues. It is not clear which of these component (s) is affected by seed deterioration. To ...

Seed Germination and Reserve Mobilization

Germination incorporates events that commence with the uptake of water (imbibition) by the quiescent dry seed and terminates with the emergence of the embryonic axis, usually the radicle. It is a time of intensemetabolic activity, involving subcellular structural changes, respiration, macromolecular syntheses and, finally, cell elongation. Establishment of the seedling occurs following germinat...

CORRIGENDUM: Assessment of Genetically Modified Soybean in Relation to Natural Variation in the Soybean Seed Metabolome

This Article contains errors arising from misuse of the terms ‘‘substantial equivalence’’ and ‘‘equivalence’’. In the Abstract, ‘‘An important aspect of GM crop adoption is to demonstrate safety and equivalence with respect to conventional crops. Untargeted metabolomics has the ability to profile diverse classes of metabolites and thus could be an adjunct for GM crop substantial equivalence ass...

Assessment of Genetically Modified Soybean in Relation to Natural Variation in the Soybean Seed Metabolome

Genetically modified (GM) crops currently constitute a significant and growing part of agriculture. An important aspect of GM crop adoption is to demonstrate safety; identifying differences in end points with respect to conventional crops is a part of the safety assessment process [corrected]. Untargeted metabolomics has the ability to profile diverse classes of metabolites and thus could be an ...

Arborescent palm seed morphology and seedling distribution.

This study examines how the seed morphology of two large arborescent palms, Attalea maripa (Aubl.) Mart. and Astrocaryum aculeatum G. Mey, may affect their seed shadow in a seasonally dry Amazonian forest. In addition to being smaller and produced in larger numbers than those of A. aculeatum, A. maripa seeds also presented a substantially lower amount of nutritional reserves available for the e...
